This project involved a large range of road safety improvements in the vicinity of Sacred Heart School, on West Tamaki Road, Crossfield Road, Aragon Avenue, Taniwha Street, Ashby Avenue, and Line Road. Particular importance was placed on pedestrian and cyclist safety.

 

The proposed works included a new roundabout, new fully-recessed bus bay, new scheduled bus stops, 4 pedestrian crossings, 3 raised speed tables, and assorted kerb extensions, raised side islands, raised refuge islands, and footpath improvements.

 

The project included traffic surveys, parking surveys, feasibility analysis, topographical surveys, CADAutotrack, scheme reporting, RSA response, utility service relocations, storm-water drainage design, road pavement design, co-ordinate set-out, street lighting design, landscaping design, cost scheduling, resolutions, and street lighting design.

 

Construction plans were prepared mid-2016 with the works costed at over $700,000.  Construction completed in 2016.
