SWEDISH SPEED TABLES

Ongoing Since 2012

TES has prepared CAD base, scheme and construction plans for new Swedish speed tables at dozens of locations. Swedish speed tables are an innovative solution to slowing vehicles down and are suitable for bus routes as there is only one bump for buses to negotiate.

Auckland Transport (AT) has used Swedish Speed Tables to slow down all vehicles to 20-30 km/hr which improves the safety of a route, particularly for the vulnerable road users (pedestrians & cyclists). They also provide a better ride for buses.

AT has approved the Swedish speed table in local areas where there are bus routes. The speed table only has one sharp ramp with a gradient of 1:13 and a height of a 100mm, which produces a relatively smooth ride for buses, compared to the normal speed table that has two sharp bumps.
