Two raised pedestrian crossings were constructed near the intersection of Massey Road and Vine Street. The project was completed early January 2023 during the summer holidays, to minimise traffic disruption. Construction was completed efficiently, with thanks to the Auckland Transport project manager, TES MSQA / design teams, and contractor.

 

The crossings will assist pedestrians crossing the road at both locations, and the raised tables will slow vehicle speeds. The improvements were targeted at Vulnerable Road Users, and should create significant road safety benefits for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists, assisting Auckland Transport in its ‘Safe System’ mission towards ‘Vision Zero’.
