CORRIDOR ROUTE / TRANSPORT STUDIES

TES has undertaken several route improvement investigations for Auckland Transport, from Concept design through to Detailed Design. Also, we have undertaken several Safe System Assessments of route studies proposed by peers.

RESOURCE CONSENT AUDITS

TES is currently a supplier to Auckland Council for Resource Consent traffic audit services. Also, we have represented Auckland Council at Resource Consent hearings.

NETWORK TRANSPORT MODELLING

TES has up-to-date versions of various traffic modelling packages, including SIDRA, S-PARAMICS and TRANSYT.  These enable TES to undertake all forms of traffic modelling, from isolated intersections to corridors, transit lanes and wider traffic networks.  We have qualified staff who are experts in using these packages.

PLANNING SERVICES

TES has extensive experience of preparing Resource Consent application audits, Integrated Transport Assessments (ITA), Traffic Impact Assessments (TIA), Assessments of Environmental Effects (AEE), reporting on District Plan matters, and reviews of planning issues.  We are knowledgeable about RMA and District Plan issues, and have attended council hearings on behalf of council and/or on behalf of private developers for substantial developments.

LANDSCAPE PLANNING AND ARCHITECTURE

TES has a strategic alliance with consultant landscape architects with whom we've participated successfully on several major projects.

TRAFFIC NOISE ASSESSMENT

TES staff have also evaluated several types of traffic management devices (speed humps and rumble strips) to assess the level of additional noise generated by these treatments.

RESIDENTIAL SPEED MANAGEMENT

Residential Speed Management (RSM) involves the installation of devices to calm traffic speeds in residential neighbourhoods. The measures can be intrusive or non-intrusive, with the former having more impact, and the latter being more passive with less impact.Devices may include signs and road-markings, vertical displacement devices (e.g. humps, cushions, and platforms) and/or horizontal displacement devices (e.g. chicanes, slow points, gateways, road narrowings, and islands).TES has designed all the above for many Councils. Also, TES has prepared LATM policy documents for several Councils.

ECONOMIC ANALYSIS

TES undertakes economic (benefit/cost) analysis and Scheme Assessment Reports for many of its design projects, to ensure that the projects are warranted economically, and for the purpose of securing external funding subsidies for clients. Such analysis may be undertaken for projects ranging from simplified procedures analysis for black spot sites, to full procedures analysis for multi-million dollar road realignments or intersection upgrades. The economic analysis undertaken by TES meets the requirements of the Waka Kotahi Economic Evaluation Manual, and has resulted in successful funding outcomes, demonstrating the design projects were warranted. TES also peer reviews economic analysis reports undertaken by other consultants

INTEGRATED TRANSPORT ASSESSMENTS

Traffic Impact Assessments and Integrated Transport Assessments have been undertaken by TES for private developers and councils for proposed developments in New Zealand and overseas. These have included presentation of evidence at council hearings, and Council representation. These assessments usually include a review of issues such as trip generation, trip impact, parking demand, parking supply, loading, driveway access, and District Plan compliance.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

We are experienced in project management, and have seconded senior personnel to council in project management roles, supervision and mentoring.

STRATEGY AND PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT

TES prepares feasibility studies, project scoping, and forward work programming, and has experienced and expert project managers.

WAKA KOTAHI FUNDING APPLICATIONS

TES has successfully prepared Waka Kotahi funding applications on behalf of several clients.

RISK ASSESSMENT

TES is adept at identifying project risks and bringing these to the attention of client in a timely manner, using the latest recommendations for Safety in Design and 'live' Risk Registers
