SAFE SYSTEM AUDITS
Ongoing Since 2012
For over a decade TES has been a preferred supplier to Auckland Transport for providing ‘Safe System Audits’ and ‘Road Safety Audits’. Our audit staff have extensive experience and have attended the NZTA ‘Safe Systems’ course and ‘Safe System Engineering Workshop’ audit training. TES has undertaken over 500 audits over the past decade for Auckland Transport, Auckland Council and private developers.
Our audits range from minor road safety improvements to substantial and high-profile corridor or town centre upgrades. Our range of experience includes priority junction improvements, new signalised intersections, route realignments, new subdivisions, mid-block crossings, bus lanes, bus laybys, cycle lanes, town centre improvements, minor safety works, footpath upgrades and Non-Motorised User Audits (NMUA).
TES audits follow Auckland Transport and Council requirements, and NZTA ‘Safe System Auditing Procedures for Transport Projects’. Our audits include Stage 1 (feasibility), Stage 2 (concept design), Stage 3 (detailed design) and Stage 4 (post-construction).
We achieve high quality audit outcomes by videoing each facility from a user perspective. Issues relating to safety, connectedness, attractiveness and accessibility become more apparent from a user perspective. Also, videos enable more detailed inspections to be undertaken, and create real-time reference points for reviewing, reporting and SoQ/MSQA.
