The Importance of Weight Distribution on a Trailer

Many of the crashes that occur in NZ are due to loss of control, particularly on high speed roads. Weight distribution, particularly on trailers and campers, is crucial to maintain control of your vehicle, especially during high speeds.

Proper balanced weight distribution is vital, a higher proportion of weight on and in front of the trailer axle, to prevent excessive lateral swaying if you need to swerve.

Check your trailers owner manual for ideal weight and load distribution, as every trailer could be designed differently.
